Peace Advocates Protest Weekend Event

YAKIMA -- Guns and protesters at this weekend's Sports Connection Gun Show in Yakima.

The protest by the "Yakima Valley Peace Advocates" is against the show and the gun-show loophole. That loophole allows people to buy guns from unlicensed dealers without a background check.

"We feel like what we're doing is the right thing to do to raise consciousness in the community we're a small group but feel like the majority is on our side," says Ed Patton, Yakima Valley Peace Advocates.

For an hour protestors held up signs against the gun show. Action News tried getting video of the gun sales and called the man in charge to hear his side. We were asked to leave and didn't get a call back.
