TRI-CITIES--After winning the Western Division, Jake Cook competed in the Bass Master Junior World Championship in Florida.

Action News sat down with Jake after he got back.

Jake won by 6 pounds, most tournaments are won by ounces.

He won a $5,000 scholarship and a $10,000 boat.

“I knew I won before I got up there, but it doesn’t really sink in and hit you until it’s actually like you won. It’s like wow, it was such a rush. A big adrenaline rush and I couldn’t really talk. I mean I could, but it was shaky,” Jake Cook said.

Jake says part of the reason he thinks he was so successful is because he went to Florida a month earlier to pre-fish.

This is the last year he'll compete with the juniors.
