NILE VALLEY -- First a landslide, now snow. We take a look at how the people who live around Highway 410 are bracing themselves for more possible problems.

The weather is beginning to turn and Saturday WSDOT closed part of Highway 410 temporarily because of heavy snow fall. Officials warn homeowners they could be cut off up to 45 days and this weekend was a vivid reminder they're racing against the clock.

"We were cut off a couple of days when the road was gone and people made trips to Enumclaw to get supplies and gas," says Tom Tyo, Nile Valley homeowner.

"I saw one truck with 15 5 gallon cans in the back and the brought it back in case," says Sally Tyo, Nile Valley Homeowner.

Sally and Tom Tyo are just a couple of the people helping donate food in preparation for winter. A majority of the supplies are being kept here at the Nile Valley Community Church potatoes, pasta, stuffing they're all shoved in this room stacked up and ready to eat.

"People say do you need more food and we're not sure, what the need is going to be," says Gary Turner, Nile Valley Community Church, Pastor.

But preparation and the need for supplies goes beyond food it's updated information on construction and communication with your neighbors to keep track of who's here and who's left.

"You make a long, long list that's getting down now here you're almost afraid to go," says Sally Tyo.

Afraid because the weather could change at any minute and the higher this river gets the more likely their temporary access road will flood and cut them off.

Preparing for the worst and keeping food in stock for those that can't afford to do it themselves. It's all some homeowners can do as they wait for the snow to hit and hope no other scenes like this will be in their future.
