UPDATE: Police Find Van Sought In Amber Alert
WAITSBURG, Wash. - Police in this town in Southeast Washington have issued a statewide AMBER Alert for two children who were taken by their father Saturday afternoon and are believed to be in danger.
Baugher, 34, and his two children were last seen Saturday at about 4:00 p.m. Police said they believe the children are in immediate danger due to Baugher's recent "mental health issues."
Detective Randy Sandvig said Baugher has visitation rights and was supposed to bring the children back to their mother by 1 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators located the man's car on Monday in Stevens County, which is in northeastern Washington. Police there are searching the area for Baugher and the two children.
Baugher is a white man with brown hair, green eyes and weighs about 140 lbs.
The children who were taken are Lars, a 2-year-old boy, and Remi, a 4-year-old girl.
Lars has blond hair, green eyes, is about 29 pounds and was wearing a brown or green jacket, blue jeans and black Converse shoes.
Remi has hazel eyes, blonde hair and is about 37 pounds. She was wearing a pink jacket with a yellow jacket over the top, blue jeans and Stawberry Shortcake shoes.
Sandvig said investigators have received several reports of sightings, but none have been verified as a positive identification.
