Eyesore Still A Problem!
By Holly Zuluaga
Pasco—The eyesore on Sinai Drive needs another cleanup.
It is overgrown with weeds. The city cleaned it up back in August and put a lien on the house, but now it's a mess again. Code Enforcement says it continues to be a problem. Plans are now in motion to clean it up again. The problem is no one is taking ownership of the property. The owners are still on the title, but say they gave it back to the bank. Code Enforcement says this is typical of foreclosed homes. “Every time we have to do that the amount of the lien raises and the property becomes harder to sell,” Mitch Nickolds said. Code Enforcement says some banks are more prepared to deal with foreclosure than others. |
