WAPATO -- Continuing coverage on Douglas Towing and Auto Wrecking. The company was at the heart of a heated debate that's been going on for years between Yakima County commissioners and Wapato homeowners.

Action News got a tour of a new location Saturday. The County gave the auto wrecking company the okay to relocate to Yakima Valley Highway. The decision upset some local wineries and some of its new neighbors because they don't want a wrecking yard in their backyard.

The company says it took 6 months to move all the equipment including tons of cars.

"There's something I have to do with the County it's not done yet, I moved in yeah but it's not done yet," says Quintin Douglas, Douglas Towing & Auto Wrecking.

Yakima County has been working on the move for years because of environmental safety reasons. The old site was right next to a river and a part of the county commissioners say is prone to flooding.
