911 Center Grant Due To Run Out

TRI-CITIES — Pain now and pain later, that's the way local budgets are panning out this year.
Besides the delay in some needed road work and other areas, the City of Richland also anticipates a future vulnerability next year. It has to do with this 911 center shared with Benton County and other local agencies... A federal grant due to expire in 2011 means a gap of $1.5 million. The one and a half million dollars gap represents about one-fourth of the center's entire budget. |
