PASCO -- The City of Pasco reports an uptick in home construction. No sooner did the city start to worry, that work started back up again...
The increase is so big, Building Inspector Mitch Nickolds says his team of three went from inspecting 25 new homes a day back in May, to 63 Wednesday.
“I think there's a bit more energy in the home buyers standpoint. They saw lower interest rates on the money that was required to actually get the loans, with the incentive for the purchasing. If they were on the fence, they thought maybe, hey this is a good time,” said Nickolds
City officials attribute much of the growth to the $8,000 incentive for first-time homebuyers.
