KENNEWICK -- Shoppers were crazy for consignment clothes Tuesday, packing into Plato's Closet for opening day.

Reps estimated between 900 and 1,100 shoppers came in on the first day.

Plato's Closet buys and sells gently used clothing for teens and twenty-somethings.

Some came from as far away as Hermiston and many came early.

"My mom, she was psyching us out and said it was going to be competitive shopping but she was joking," Morgan Erickson said.
"Yeah, and elbowing!" twin sister Calloway Erickson said. "We thought it was going to be crazy insane but it's not as bad as we thought so were like 'yeah!"

There were at least 400 sales transactions Tuesday and another 60 or so who came to get cash for their trade-ins.
