$5 million in road work coming to Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA-- State grant money is finally pouring in for road improvements in Walla Walla.
More than five-million dollars is in the bank for major road work.
The largest project -- a total rebuild of the intersection of Myra Road and The Dalles Military Road.
An overhaul of 13-th Avenue near Cherry Street is also on the list.
But maybe the most important of all the improvements -- new sidewalks for the area around Garrison Middle School.
Cathy Barron has a son at the school, and tells Action News, "Having a designated place for children to walk home from school would be really terrific. Keep them safe, get them home."
The improvements near Garrison Middle School are set to start in early spring.
