Yakima -- They've only been gone for three months but Yakima County already has a plan on how to fill the empty space from the old 'A' street buildings.
The century old buildings were torn down back in March after months of going back and forth on what to do with them. County commissioners tell us they want to turn the land into a park with a performance stage and water features.
"Generally I'm not in favor of tearing down historic buildings but those were really old and decrepit, so I think it's a good idea to put a water featured park in its place," says Leanne Ries, Yakima local.
The county says it's willing to spend up to $40,000 on the park and hope to have this dirt patch filled with the park by the Fall. The project is almost a done deal. The county just needs to sign the paperwork.
