'Uncontrolled, Unchecked Spending'
By Sade Malloy
Yakima -- All over the nation and right here in our region a tea party protest over the bailout.
In Yakima, more than 400 people showed up to voice their frustration with what they call uncontrolled and unchecked spending by politicians. They're likening the bail out to the Boston Tea Party. "They were taxed without representation and that's exactly what's happening today, they passed an 1,100 page bill worth $787 billion and they don't do diligence," says Kirk Groenig, protester. There's going to be another Yakima protest on tax day. That same day a scroll with Yakima's grievances will be mailed to Washington D.C. and Olympia. |
