THIS MAY BE STRETCHING IT A BIT..BUT WAITSBURGH IS AT LEAST AN HOUR FROM EVERYWHERE..A SLEEPING LITTLE TOWN IN THE EASTERN CORNER OF WALLA WALLA COUNTY OF JUST OVER 12-HUNDRED. DOESN'T HAVE A STOPLIGHT DOWNTOWN..IT'S ONE OF THOSE PLACES THAT'S JUST ON THE WAY TO SOME OTHER PLACE.

And then there's the Whoopemup café. It's Waitsburg's destination location if what you're trying to locate is plain, good eating.

Somebody's probably going to have to lead you here cause the first time you're going to wonder where you're at. But once you get led here you'll be back.

AND THEY COME FROM ALL OVER..DAYTON, WALLA WALLA, TRI-CITIES, SPOKANE, SEATTLE AND PORTLAND..EXPERIENCING A MENU THAT'S BEST DESCRIBED AT SOUTHERN-SLASH-CAJUN. THAT'S MOUTH-WATERING TO SAY THE LEAST.

The food. Hopefully, the atmosphere and the service helps, but they wouldn't come back if the food was crap.

On a scale of 1-5, what would you give it? A 5 being high? A 5. I like it. It was just good Louisiana cooking.

We've got friends in the Tri0Cities and they recommended this restaurant and it's fabulous. This your first time here? Yeah. And? And it won't be the last.

There's a lot of traffic that comes through here. About 2 to 5 thousand cars a day. You only have to catch a few of them.

AND IT'S WORKING. THE ENTREES AT WHOOPEMUP RUN FROM 17-27 BUCKS. SHARING AT THE TABLES IS ENCOURAGED..THE ATMOSPHERE IS LAID BACK.

I don't really see us as upscale. I mean, we've got paper napkins you know. (LAUGHS)
