Credit Union Opens for Union Workers
By Molly KelleherKENNEWICK - A Spokane group is shaking off all this economic uncertainty and branching out to the Tri-Cities. The Union Credit Union is opening in Kennewick on Clearwater where the old Bank West used to be. The Credit Union is for union workers and their families and the only one of its kind in the state. They're promising better rates than banks, so much that they're claiming to save families $200 a month. "I think it is the best time mainly because no one is growing, no one is hiring and we feel out union brothers and sisters are ready to completely do their banking with us," said CEO Demaris Krummel. You have to be a union member to join or have a family member in a union. |
