BENTON COUNTY -- While we were out with Benton County crews trying to help homeowners, the homeowners came to rescue us!

Our cameras caught a fire truck nearly tipping over in the waters.

Fire District four got stuck in the mud along peterson road in West Richland. You can see another fire truck tried to pull it out, but that chain snapped.

So fire crews tried again with another chain.

The second time it held, but started to make the fire truck slip even more into the mud.

Several homeowners came to help bringing ATVs, SUVs and even tractors.

"The mud is so soft on the side of the road, the harder they pulled the more it started to sink and it started to lean toward the fence and now they're in real trouble," Brian Kowalski said, a neighbor who helped get crews out.

Luckily, everyone made it out okay, including our camera crew.
