RICHLAND-- Half a dozen people from the group American Citizens Encouraging Support woke up early Saturday, to drive to Lt. Ernest Martin's funeral services in Ellensburg.
They met in the Denny's parking lot to organize a caravan and distribute flags.
With American soldiers fighting two wars, they said it is important to remember not only the ones overseas now, but those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in every war.
"We never want them to be forgotten," said ACES member Lil Kinie. "We want to honor him and honor his family, and this is the least that we can do."
The ACES are a group that supports the military. They have ceremonies for soldiers' departures and homecomings as well.
