30 tons of crimson lifted 90 feet in the air

RICHLAND, Wash. -- The Coug spirit reached a new height on Monday: the control room for the new engineering lab tower at WSU Tri-Cities was lifted into place.

It weighs 30 tons and was lifted 90 feet in the air. The control room was placed on the steel framework. It took about an hour, start to finish.

The crimson Coug logo will also shine bright at night, with some LED lighting to highlight it.

The control room will be a central figure in the Department of Energy testing program.
