3-year term for baby assault in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) — A man who was convicted in Walla Walla of assaulting his baby daughter was sentenced Monday to three years in prison.

The Union-Bulletin reports 21-year-old Alan R. Hackney was allowed to remain out of prison while he appeals his conviction.

He acknowledged dropping his 1-month old daughter in January but said it was an accident. The girl has recovered from a skull fracture.
