RICHLAND -- We made the call, and you answered. You've followed the story of Aidan Zaugg and his battle with cancer. He's recently been in Arizona getting a very expensive medical treatment that insurance doesn't cover.

Friends, family and strangers wanted to get the house back in order before Aidan comes home. We wanted to help, but we knew you wanted to help, also. All we had to do was ask.

Aidan's grandmother, Cath Hammack says "When this came up, we maxed our resources and that's when we had to reach out to the public for help."

And this was how Aidan's Angels began. Aidan Zaugg's grandma needs more help now that Aidan's rare form of brain cancer is back.

Action News began making phone calls to help.

With Aidan and his parents at treatment their home has sat empty for weeks. No food in the fridge, no one to keep up the lawn, no one to keep the home tidy.

Cath Hammack pointed out the bare staircase, "You can see the floor has no carpets and you can still see the tacks."

And it's not just tidiness, we heard the family needed new carpeting to help protect Aidan's immune system.

So we stepped in. Action News hit the phone book asking you for donations....and dozens of you stepped forward.

Benjamin's Carpet will carpet the rooms so the family doesn't have to walk around on plywood and tacks.

Other business stepped up, too.

Producer Holly Zuluaga pointed to the running tally, "this is the list of people we have so far...Entrees Made Easy who are donating meals to stock the fridge."

The owner of Entrees Made Easy is Frank Nero. He explained, "When we heard his story and were inspired by it so we wanted to help out."

And that's not all. Yoke's, Wal-Mart and Albertsons all donated gift cards.

And a landscaper donated his time and talents.

Jose Aguilera owns Terra Valley Landscaping. He chimed in, "This was the first time i heard of it but it just meant so much to me."

It meant so much to him to help get the family's yard back in shape.

Aidan's aunt and uncle helped get him a hot tub for therapy, but they needed a place to put the tub.

J and E concrete services stepped up to help with the concrete slab, and an electrician agreed to help get the hot tub going.

Aidan and his family come home in a few days and Aidan's Angels grew by a few dozen, just in one day.
