Franklin, Walla Walla County bridges to be replaced
OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Federal funds will pay for the replacement of two Central Washington bridges.
In Franklin County, the R-170 bridge that crosses Potholes Canal is set to be replaced. The county was awarded $868,160 for the project.
Walla Walla County received $664,000 to replace the Pettybone St. bridge.
Washington state will receive a portion of the $130 million federal dollars slated for bridge repairs across the country.
WSDOT selected a total of 70 aging bridges to receive repairs or replacements.
The Bridge Replacement Advisory Committee and WSDOT reviewed 87 applications in all.
