Electrical fire forces middle school to close for the day

UMATILLA, Ore. -- A small electrical fire has forced administrators to cancel classes at a Umatilla middle school.

Officials said there were no injuries. The fire caused a power outage Wednesday at Clara Brownell Middle School.

Maintenance crews were airing out the building with fans, according to interim superintendent Al Meunier.

School is expected to be in session on Thursday.

Umatilla High and McNary Heights Elementary remained open.
