Correa spotted, then arrested outside Hermiston motel

HERMISTON POLICE NEWS RELEASE -- On the 29th of June 2012, at approximately 11 AM, the Hermiston Police Department received information on the whereabouts of Richard Correa. Officers of this agency responded to the Economy Inn located at 835 North 1st Street in Hermiston and visually observed Richard Correa as a passenger in an SUV driven by his father Cruz Correa.
Officer Rod Vega identified himself to Cruz Correa and ordered him to stop his vehicle. Cruz Correa ignored the order and exited the parking lot. Responding units were able to conduct a felony traffic stop on the 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe with Oregon registration plates DUCKXP.
Cruz Correa was taken into custody and later charged with Hindering Prosecution. Cruz Correa was processed at the Hermiston Police Department and released.
Richard Correa, 28 years of age, a transient of Hermiston, was taken into custody without incident and processed at the Hermiston Police Department before being lodged at the Umatilla County Jail in Pendleton. Richard was charged with:
(1) count of Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle and (1) count of Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle for the incident from the 24th of June 2012 at Theater Sports Park.
(1) count of Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, (1) count of Attempt to Elude in Vehicle, (1) count of Driving While Suspended – Misdemeanor, (1) count of Attempt to Elude on Foot, (1) count of Criminal Trespass in the First Degree, (1) count of Reckless Driving, (1) count of Failure to Perform Duties of Driver – Property Damage, and (2) counts of Theft in the Third Degree for the incident from the 27th of June 2012 where Richard fled from Officer Clark. Additional traffic violations of Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device (x3), Failure to Signal Turn (x4), Driving without Headlights, Speed Racing, Failure to Stop When Emerging from an Alley, and Illegal Display of Plates.
Richard Correa also had (7) warrants for his arrest that were cleared as a result of the arrest today. Richard was placed in the dedicated jail bed purchased by the City of Hermiston.
The female that was a passenger in the pursuit from the 27th of June 2012, was identified as Rebeckah J. Ellis, a 23-year-old transient of Hermiston. Ellis was arrested and lodged on a probation violation warrant.
