RICHLAND, Wash. -- A former teacher walked into the Richland Police Department earlier this month and told police that he had sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl. Now the Benton County Prosecutor's Office has filed 3rd degree rape charges against Daryl Rachinski.
Court documents state the alleged sexual contact happened on June 10th. Rachinski turned himself in just two days later on June 12th.
Richland Police said they do not believe there are other victims in the case.
They also said the alleged sexual contact did not happen on school district property.
Rachinski will be arraigned on July 5th. He was ordered not to have contact with the victim in the case.
Richland Police are asking anyone with more information to call the non-emergency phone number for Southeast Communications at 628-0333.
