Goodbye graffiti... we are not letting you stay.

WALLA WALLA - The efforts are paying off.

In the last two years, cases of graffiti have dropped by nearly a third to less than two a week.

Volunteers have come together and work closely with police to learn where taggings have been reported. Then they stop it before it becomes a problem.

“You drive around town and you see graffiti and you say to yourself, jeez, someone should do something about that”, says Dick Morgan, a volunteer. “A lot of property gets graffiti on it the folks that have that property are cash strapped to begin with and this is a way to take care of it for free.”

Local paint shops have pitched in and have donated paint to cover the graffiti.
