State Rep. Strow quits to take regional post
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - State Rep. Chris Strow is leaving the Washington Legislature to take a policy post with the Puget Sound Regional Council.

Strow (rhymes with how) says the time commitment of campaigning and serving in Olympia is taking too much time away from his family and that he wants to step away from politics for a while. His wife is Mary Lane, the communications director for Dino Rossi's bid for governor, and they have an infant daughter.

The 38-year-old Whidbey Island lawmaker says he'll resign his 10th District House seat on Tuesday and will report for duty at the Puget Sound Regional Council on Wednesday. He'll be principal economic policy analyst for the council that serves King, Snohomish, Pierce and Kitsap counties.
