Sunnyside Murder, Benton County Arrest
YAKIMA COUNTY — Action News found out about a Mother's Day stabbing Sunday afternoon with one man dead in Yakima County and another arrested in Benton County, charged with murder.
Yakima Sheriffs officials say they found Pedro Florez, 61, stabbed and lying in a driveway on 3000 block of Grandview Pavement Road in Sunnyside.
They say Florez was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital, but he did not survive.
Officials tell us the man accused of stabbing him was arrested in Benton County after he was treated at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, miles away in Richland.
We do not know his name, only that he lives in rural Benton County and is 57 years old.
He will make his first appearance in court Monday in Yakima County.
