Franklin County to Make Road Safety Improvements
FRANKLIN COUNTY -- KEPR has learned of several safety changes planned for Franklin County roads.
Beginning this Summer, crews will first make sure road signs on three county intersections are in the right place and that nothing is blocking drivers' view of traffic.
Those three places are: (1) Argent road and Road 72, (2) Argent Road and Road 60, (3) and Court Street and Road 52.
People who live nearby told action news they welcome safety improvements. But others say they're more concerned with heavy traffic back-up on Argent Road when schools get out.
The county will also add safety features to the newly opened road 170 through Basin City and into other parts of Franklin County. That means new flashing lights, bigger road signs and warning signs, and rumble strips in places to keep people from veering off the road if they're falling asleep. These will go in where Road 170 hits Glade North Road, Elm Road, Ironwood Road, and Russel Road.
Those improvements will also be made to intersections along Taylor Flats Road at Alder Road, Birch Road and Fir Road. As well as on Langford Road at Sheffield Road and Russell Road.
