RICHLAND -- A Richland music teacher is behind bars Friday, accused of sex crimes with teens.
Two Richland police officers, dressed in plain clothes, arrested Allen Eve at his home on Friday afternoon.
Eve is the former Richland High School Director, and cops claim he used the band room as his personal playground to have affairs with three girls...all students.
Prosecutors gave police the go-ahead to arrest Eve for three counts: sexual misconduct with a minor in the first degree, communication with a minor for immoral purposes, and assault in the fourth degree with sexual motivation.
Eve was completely cooperative with police.
Action News Reporter Chelsea Kopta was there when Richland cops took Eve in, and caught the arrest on tape.
"It's kind of a shock when that kind of stuff happens with a teacher," Richland High School Senior and neighbor of Eve, John Clearly said. "Especially at Richland because you don't think that that kind of stuff happens that much."
Cleary is a student at Richland High and Eve's neighbor. He heard rumors, but cops said the scandal all started when a student came forward.
She had lurid stories, claiming Eve was teaching more than just how to read music. Those claims led police to find two other potential victims.
"He seemed like a teacher, I mean, he seemed like everybody else," Cleary said.
Court documents confirm all three alleged victims are teen girls who went to Richland High.
The documents report Eve sent one girl notes in her locker, indicating he wanted more. That eventually led to sex a couple times a week in the band supply room. Officers believe it lasted for seven months this year.
For these incidents, Eve faces felony charges for first degree sexual misconduct with a minor.
"I heard rumors about notes...
In another charge, Eve is accused of half-a-dozen incidents where he talked to a teen with immoral purposes, sending her love notes and indicating he wanted more.
With this teen, court documents report Eve told her "he liked her more than a student-teacher relationship." Court papers say Eve admitted to writing the notes.
For these incidents Eve faces gross misdemeanor charges.
Court papers also said Eve touched another teen girl inappropriately "by making advances toward the victim, causing her to back up away from him, brushing her bangs off of her forehead without her permission, and grabbing her hand and massaging it without her permission."
Eve also told the victim "how pretty she was and how lucky her boyfriend was."
"He was there for a long time," Cleary said. "Everyone said he was there forever."
The school put Eve on paid administrative leave last month to begin their own investigation. Eve stepped down shortly after that. He's been with the Richland schools for 15 years.
Police are looking at the other states he worked in to see if he has a background there.
Eve's wife was there to see the arrest go down, but she didn't want to talk to Action News.
