New Year's Resolutions

YAKIMA -- If you have resolved to lose weight this year, but are not very good at keeping that promise, there are things you can do to change.

(1) Be specific, do not just say you "want to lose weight." Determine a number of pounds, then write it down and review it. (2) Set a time frame. Say you want to lose 10 pounds in four months. (3) Tell others about your goal. This helps for both support and accountability. If you can only follow one step, experts say choose the second one. According to studies, just writing down your weight goals doubles your chances of achieving your goal.
