Recycled Roof In Richland

RICHLAND -- A woman has found an unusual way to put a roof over her head in Richland.

Peggy Hamilton says she's the first to have a recycled rubber roof installed locally, and she loves it.

She says she's already noticed a difference in the temperature and expects to see the savings in her heating bill.

"As a recycled rubber roofing material the average house recycles somewhere between 600 to 1000 tires so that's kept out of the landfill," Peggy Hamilton said. Hamilton said.

The only certified installers for this kind of roof are on the west side.

Peggy also tells Action News her new recycled rubber roof it isn't that much more expensive than the alternative, and has a lifetime guarantee.
