BENTON COUNTY--KEPR Action News is tracking your money.
We learned how much it could cost to move the Benton County seat from Prosser to Kennewick.
A study shows three options; the first covers the minimum number of changes, moving only one-county official and one-county worker.
Over ten-years that's expected to save about $141,440.
The second would be a gradual move, but keep limited offices in Prosser.
That could cost nearly $2,718,594 over ten-years.
The last option, close all offices in Prosser and moves everything to Kennewick.
That's expected to cost about $3,537,958 over the next decade.
Business owners in Prosser say there are more costs.
"The numbers in here are obvious that it's going to cost the county to do this. There are a lot of hidden costs that aren't in here like what do you do to revitalize Prosser with these lost jobs," JT Montgomery, owner of Chukar Cherries said.
The study did look at the retail impact.
A vote on whether to move the seat is on the November ballot.
