Brush Fires Considered Suspicious
BENTON COUNTY--- Half a dozen fires were put out on Interstate 82 this afternoon between milepost 110 and 111. That's the stretch between Badger Road and the turn to Highway 395.
Multiple crews including water tenders and bull dozers were all called in as firefighters rushed out to keep a the fires from spreading to homes in the Triple Vista and Plymouth area. Captain Devin Helland says the fires are suspicious.”
"When you have six or seven starts along the freeway, that doesn’t happen naturally. They could have drove, they could have thrown some incendiary devices, could have gotten out and lit it, we don’t know, but it is suspicious in nature," said Hellund
The fires were mostly contained in about an hour, but again they were called suspicious.
Even more so, since two new fires later cropped up just about ten miles away -- also on I-82 at mile 120.
