YAKIMA, Wash. -- GE Aviation announced to its employees the company was exploring options to sell the Landing Gear and Actuation business in order to remain competitive.

"In order to remain competitive, we continually review organizational needs and make adjustments to reflect current economic and market conditions whenever necessary. On October 1 we announced to employees our intent to explore strategic options to sell the Landing Gear and Actuation business.
We make it a priority to keep our employees and their representatives updated and inform them of any proposed changes to our business prior to making a public announcement."
