Kennewick gambling revenues down for the first time since 2009
KENNEWICK Wash. -- The closure of a local casino caused yearly gambling tax revenues to fall for the first time in four years.

The Islands Casino on Gage Boulevard closed in October.

Kennewick workers say the closure caused yearly tax revenues to fall by $65,000.

It's the first time since 2009 that revenues declined.

Money from gambling taxes usually fits the bill for things like street maintenance.
