WA Senate says why stop at 1 tax increase, let's go for 2!
Voters in our state might have two tax measures to decide this fall.
The chief budget writer in the state Senate has proposed a 5% capital gains tax dedicated to education - which would take effect next year.
That would be in addition to a temporary sales tax increase proposed by Governor Gregoire to close a major budget hole.
Unlike the sales tax - the capital gains tax would be permanent.
