PASCO - KEPR is digging into the numbers and continues to find trends that show Pasco is becoming one of the safer communities here in the Tri-Cities.

In the big gang sweeps last year Pasco only had 40 arrests made, while the entire Tri-Cities totaled 300. For Pasco, that's a small drop from last year's number, but for the Tri-Cities as a whole, that's about 25 more arrests.

Pasco has a smaller chunk of all the arrests, and locals say it's proof that Pasco has just gotten a "bad rap".

“You have the bad parts of town in every city, not just Pasco and I think in years past there's been more Pasco and it’s better every year,” said local Norma Miller.

The gang related arrests in Pasco were charges specifically related to narcotics possession and weapon offenses.
