Don't buy a popsicle from this ice cream truck
KENNEWICK POLICE NEWS RELEASE -- Kennewick Police have arrested 41 year old Maximino Castillo-Murcia of Kennewick for Luring following a incident in Kennewick Wednesday afternoon near Monopoly Park in Kennewick. Castillo-Murcia is accused of attempting to lure a 13 year old female into his ice cream truck as the female purchased ice cream from him.

The victim did not report the incident at the time but notified school officials the next day who then contacted police. The victim reported that a 7 year old female was with her at the time of the incident. According to the victim she was purchasing ice cream from the vendor who was in his truck when she noticed Castillo-Murcia was masturbating.

She then threw her ice cream at the suspect and fled. Investigators interviewed the 13 year old victim and returned to the same neighborhood yesterday in an effort to locate the suspect. When he was not located in the same area they canvassed other areas and located the suspect and the same vehicle near 4th and Kent Street. The victim was able to identify the vehicle and the suspect and he was taken into custody.

It is possible there have been other unreported incident with the same suspect. Because of this we are releasing an image of Castillo-Murcia and of the ice cream truck he drives. Kennewick Police are asking that if you have or know someone who has had a similar encounter with Castillo-Murcia to contact Kennewick Police at (509) 628-0333 to file a report.

Additional charges are pending against Castillo-Murcia.
