BASIN CITY -- KEPR Action News has learned Road 170 will finally be completed after a landslide tore it down four years ago.
Wednesday, Franklin County will start taking bids for the last phase of the project with work due to begin by the end of this month.
Commissioner Rick Miller hopes the county will get some savings because labor is cheaper in this economy.
"We're hoping with the way the economy is that we're probably going to get some decent bids. So far we've seen bids come in lower than what we projected,” said Commissioner Miller.
Commissioner Rick Miller says all the money comes from what you've already paid at the pump: 42 cents in state and federal taxes for every gallon.
Besides the road, the county plans to widen a bridge on Road 170 to make it safer.
