KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Changes are finally on the way for a traffic light at the Edison Street off-ramp on in Kennewick, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (DOT). KEPR found that construction for a temporary traffic light will start around the July 4.

Last year, Action News discovered improvements to the Edison ramp had become DOT's number one priority in our region because traffic regularly backs up the length of the ramp. But in a year's time, the intersection hasn't seen any changes.

Megan McFadden, DOT Spokesperson, said the temporary light will cost $42,000. We also checked in on the long-term solution. Engineers said they are considering a permanent light or a roundabout but at this point, said, they don't have the money to study which would be the best.
