PENDLETON - "All of my cars have been broken into," said car prowl victim Jerry Cronin.

Jerry has several cars and not all of them can fit in his garage.
That leaves the two he has outside vulnerable, like many others in town.

Just since the start of the year, 70 cars have been prowled.
If this pace continues, it would be a 200% increase over last year. I saw several cars that had been vandalized in the last week.
You can still see the egg marks on this car.

"I had two cars parked in front of my house. Then one morning saw they had been vandalized. They weren't really damaged but the ash trays were pulled out and money was missing," said victim Jerry Cronin.

While 12th street is a problem, people say it's not the only one.

"I don't feel safe parking anywhere in town," said neighbor Taisha Myers.

"I don't know if we have thieves, but during the day, they aren't around. They're probably sleeping," said neighbor Lorraine White.

Police say crime usually goes up as the weather gets warmer, but Pendleton has already seen plenty of it during the winter months.
