Door to Door to Find Unlicensed Dogs
PASCO— The city’s door-to-door campaign to find more unlicensed dogs is working.

The city knocked on the doors of 11,000 homes and found about 20 percent had a dog that wasn't registered.

Last year, they checked 15,000 homes and found about 17 percent without licenses. Code enforcement goes door to door and City Clerk Debbie Clark counts what they find.

“We've noticed that some residents just were not aware that pasco does have a licensing ordinance and they are new to the area,” said Clark

Action News was there on the last day of the door-to-door campaign. Of the first ten homes code enforcement visited that day, seven had unlicensed dogs.

If your dog isn't registered today, it costs $20 to do it, including the late fee. The deadline was February 28th.
