KENNEWICK--More plans to cut routes and make changes to the bus system.
People don't like it.
“I think these changes are ridiculous. I mean you're not helping the transit system. You keep running it into the ground,” Myron Traeger said.
BFT wants to combine routes three routes into one, which would cover the east end of Kennewick, running between the Huntington transfer center and the Dayton transfer site.
They'd also combine a couple Richland routes on Saturdays around the knight street transfer center and WSU Tri-Cities.
The earliest route between Prosser and the Tri-Cities would be pushed back a couple hours and the summer shuttle to the playground of dreams would be cancelled.
“I don't think they should change anything. Leave it all the same. You're going to confuse people. You'll lose riders; because people are going to have to walk farther than they do already. It's just ridiculous, don't screw with the system more than they've done,” Kristin Frank said.
However, BFT says they've already lost riders and they're losing big money.
Sinking sales tax revenue keeps adding to the problem.
