KENNEWICK--A different kind of wish list for Santa.

The Wall Street Journal reports kids are asking Santa for more necessities this year, like shoes and coats instead of TV’s and video games.

We wanted to know what the trend was locally.

So we sat down with the jolly old elf.

He told us he hasn't seen a change in what kids want for Christmas here.

The trend is electronics, but he always gets a few that make him chuckle.

“I did have one 5 year old girl ask for diamonds that was kind of exciting and I have had 5 and 6 year olds ask for a truck, monster trucks, not a toy,” Santa said
