PASCO--Road 68 continues to grow and so does the concern.

It's the spot in town that's blown up like no other and the roads can't keep up.

From food to fun to finance, you can find it all on Road 68.

Leslie Renz says she remembers when it was all farm land.

Now, she doesn't have to drive far for what she needs.

“I don't have to go anywhere else now I can come up here and even grocery stores. Wal-Mart, everything's right here that you basically need,” Leslie Renz said.

This sign just went up for a liquor and wine store.

It's in the old Petland building.

They moved to a smaller space and American Family Insurance will move in next door.

Action News told you when Quiznos and a pizza place closed up shop, but it hasn't taken long to fill.

H&R Block just moved in.

Road 68 isn't done growing.

There are plenty of open spots to fill.

Action News talked to a company that manages some of the strip malls.

They expect these empty storefronts to be filled by the Spring.

That same company hopes to bring in more big stores like maybe a TJ Maxx or Target, but right now the big boxes haven't made any moves.

All the growth comes at a price.

More businesses means more traffic.

“Traffic is really bad up here because there are so many businesses coming in this area. I don't know if it's handling all the traffic and all the schools too that are up here. It's a lot more busier,” Leslie Renz said.

The City of Pasco told me they have a short term plan to add another southbound lane on Road 68, but they know it will need a long term plan.

Right now Sandifur connects Rd 68 to Rd 100, but they're talking about connecting Power Line Road to handle even heavier traffic.
