A rollover accident near Basin City Wednesday almost cost a couple of cows their lives. That is, until two dozen neighbors came to the rescue.
About 8 a.m., a semi trailer carrying 50 head of cattle rolled on Klamath Rd.
Those who saw the accident jumped out of their trucks to help.
One man used a saw to cut a hole in the top of the trailer-- a makeshift door for the cattle to escape.
After all was said and done, only two of the cows died. The rest will live to moo another day.
Medics took the driver to Lourdes where he was treated and released.
