PASCO-- Syngenta is one of the world’s largest seed processing plants and it’s located right here in Pasco.
Wednesday Action News got the first public look inside the new facility. The processing plant is filled with high-tech equipment designed to process fruits and vegetables with an emphasis on sweet corn.
Syngenta says it considered 40 other sites before opening here in Pasco. The company says the main reason for that is the ability of local growers to do an excellent job, and access to water and ports via the Columbia River.
The City of Pasco says the plant will bring 30 jobs and $20 million to the city's tax base. Plus, Syngenta says it will plant four thousand acres of sweet corn in Pasco.
