What's Next for Housing Authority Tenants?
RICHLAND - Action News is following up on a housing authority in crisis.

Action News was the first to tell you HUD is cutting Section 8 voucher funds from Richland Housing Authority.

And we wanted to hear what folks living in public housing in Richland think of this. For Section 8 folks, they'll get to stay where they live but will have to now be processed through another agency. It will either be Kennewick or Pasco Housing Authority.

But until everything gets figured out, no more Section 8 applications are allowed in Richland.

"That's bad because I was going to apply and I really need help on my low income rent. With rent it just sucks all the money away," said Cassandra Garcia.

We talked with Pasco Housing Authority Director about what it would mean for families if they take it over.

Pasco says it would be more seamless and would make more financial sense because they already have an inter local agreement because they own properties in Richland already.
