STANFIELD - Stanfield is taking its first steps to develop a larger business district.
The city tells Action News its hope to begin work on a new water line early next year. The affected area is on the west side of 395 between downtown and 1-84. The land now is just farm land. That farming will not be affected. and the city says although no specific businesses have signed on yet, they are already getting some looks.
“In the past few years, we've had feelers from hotels, possibly another service station, and a lot of supporting type businesses for the trucking industry,” said Stanfield Mayor Tom McCann.
Stanfield hopes to have the line finished around this time next year, and businesses could start moving in shortly after.
