PASCO--There's been a boom in business near Court Street in Pasco.

At least three new businesses have opened up shop.

“We're not scared of betting it all,” Daniel Trujillo from Chef’s Family Restaurant said.

Chef’s Family Restaurant says its spot off Court and 20th gets a lot of traffic, and now is the perfect time to open up because people are feeling better about the economy and spending money.

“For us, it's a good time right now. The way the economy is picking up, it's just going to take off and you better grab it now before it's too late,” Daniel Trujillo said.

El Pollo Llon agrees.

They're the new Mexican restaurant on Court hoping to get in on the Tri-Cities market.

“We came and looked around this area because we use to have businesses in Atlanta and we say we're going to move from this area because the economy is bad in Atlanta,” Teofilo Organista from El Pollo Llon said.

After talking to people and doing research El Pollo Llon decided the Tri-Cities was a good bet since it wasn't hit as hard by the recession.

They're off to a slow start, but say it's getting better every day.

They're banking on their pollo asado.

“Pollo asado is very popular in Texas, and Kansas, Atlanta, LA. Everywhere you go it's very popular. We found that they had no pollo asado like that style over here,” Teofilo Organista from El Pollo Llon said.

Colortyme also just opened up.

They're a rent to own furniture business.

They told me renting furniture is good business for people who want to be cautious about their money, because they can stop renting at anytime, and aren't locked in if they lose their job.

We may not be out of the woods yet, but businesses say they're seeing the signs, and they're banking on it.
