WALLA WALLA--In the 16th Legislative District, Rep. Laura Grant-Herriot hopes to keep her seat and remain Eastern Washington's only Democrat from outside Spokane.
Grant was appointed earlier this year after her father passed away.
He held the seat for 20 years.
Laura Grant-Herriot told Action News that if she retained her seat it would be huge for all of rural Eastern Washington. If she doesn’t, there will be no representation for all of rural Eastern Washington in the Democratic caucus.
Grant is facing off with Terry Nealey, Kevin Young, and David Roberts.
Grant and Nealey are the leading fundraisers in the campaign.
